  • Professional development updates including training in PEDS, Brigance, SUDI, QUIT, FV and Sleep

Private/ At Home Services


The Maternal and Child Health Nurses Agency recognises the importance of the ongoing relationship between the family and the community Maternal and Child Health Nurse.

 

Occasionally extra help and support is required to assist families who are experiencing difficulties.

 

The Maternal and Child Health Nurses Agency can provide families with an experienced nurse for a half or full day placements.

 

Some overnight stays can be negotiated.

 

MCHNA is run by a Maternal and Child Health Nurse who understands the value of selecting the right person to fit in with your family.

 

Maternal and Child Health Nurses are skilled in assessing the needs of the family and working with them to help reach them reach their goals and gain confidence in their parenting role.

 

Maternal and Child Health Nurses have expertise in many areas including:

 

  • Health and well being of both mother and child

  • Care of the newborn

  • Care of the unsettled baby

  • Sleep and settling problems

In Victoria 95% of families have contact with their local Maternal and Child Health service after the birth of their child.
